1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
My hometown feels like it is saturated with a southern culture of good food, good company, and Jesus. It is known as a “Christmas Town” in the winter, the home of “chicken bog”, and is located just a hop, skip, and a jump from North Myrtle Beach. It’s small culture of farm life breeds hard working people where everyone knows each other. As the locals say, “All roads lead to Loris!”
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
I have a ring made of baby-blue opal, that is kept in my jewelry box, inside my closet casing. It was a gift from my mother, to my grandmother, who passed away in 2012. When I wear it, I feel like I am walking with generational empowerment; like both of them are with me. Another important piece is my wedding dress which remains my favorite gown to this day.
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
I love to cook fresh caught flounder in my grandmother’s cast iron skillet. My husband and I spend almost every summer day on the beach, so we fish a lot and like to catch our own dinner. Fun Fact: A freshly caught flounder hardly needs any seasoning because it naturally tastes like butter! All I have to do is filet it, add some sea salt, and pepper; then bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
I would spend more time reading my Bible. I like to start my day with a daily devotional, my mushroom coffee–yes, you read that right!–and prayer. As a chronic pain patient, I have found comfort knowing that my Savior has a plan for me and if I had any extra time throughout the day, doing anything, it would be serving or praising Him!
5.What is the one thing you’ll never do again?
Once upon a time my granddaddy was called to help my great aunt. She had four snakes INSIDE of her house that had her cornered in her kitchen, on top of her cabinets! I was only 12 at the time, so I was told to wait outside while he went in with a machete and killed all four of them. I was tasked with cleaning up the aftermath while he calmed her nerves.
